Meatball Madness!

Stuck in the house with Sleet, Ice & a little Snow outside!
So why don't make it Saturday Fun Recipe Day!!

Meatball Madness!!

You'll Need:

Large Meatballs:
2 lbs Ground Beef
1/3 cup Parmesan Cheese
Salt & Pepper to taste
2 palms full- Garlic Powder
2 palms full- Onion Powder
2 palms full- Emeril's Seasoning Salt
½ tsp Cumin
1 tsp of Ms. Dash Original
1 palm full- Steak Seasoning
A bowl of water

Sauce:
Canola Oil
1 large Onions- chopped
1 large Green Peppers- chopped
2 Cloves of Garlic- minced
1 palm full Parsley flakes
1 Can of Plum Tomatoes- slightly pureed "leave some chunks"
1 Jar of Four Cheese Spaghetti Sauce
1 Box of Ziti Pasta

In a large bowl break up the ground beef & season it with the above seasonings "Feel free to add or lessen to your taste"

Mix together and with clean hands and begin forming the meatballs "large ones" as big as your palm, and set aside.
Dip your hands in the water bowl to keep the meat from sticking to your hands so much.

In a large dutch oven type pot, over medium heat, add enough oil just to cover the bottom of the pot.

Add the onions, peppers & garlic and sauté for 5 minutes.
Season the onion mix with garlic & onion powder, Emeril's seasoning, Ms. Dash, salt, pepper & parsley.
Now add the slightly pureed plum tomatoes and the jar of spaghetti sauce and simmer on low while you brown the meatballs.

In a large skillet over medium high heat, add ¼ cup of oil, once the oil is hot add the meatballs and just brown them on all sides to seal in the juices and keep the meatball moist while cooking.
Once all the meatballs are browned add them to the tomato sauce on low heat and let them simmer for about 45 minutes to an hour.

Check on them often to prevent sticking.

Cook the Ziti according to the directions on the box, drain well and ran cold water over them to stop the cooking process.
Now add the Ziti to the meatballs and serve by topping with shredded mild cheddar cheese.

Enjoy!

A Tip for the Day!

Tip:
Now you know me, If I find out something interesting I'm going to share it!

I found out today, That you should never use a towel to dry your natural hair, it will snag your curls making it frizzy & dull.
Use a White t-shirt instead!

Be Frugal! Just buy some irregular t-shirts at a great price.
Easy to do especially if you have a Goodwill or something like that in your town.

The Importance of Jojoba Oil

Jojoba Oil-
Jojoba oil is an effective cleanser, conditioner, moisturizer, and softener for the skin and hair.
Jojoba oil can be applied directly to the skin to reduce wrinkles and stretch marks, it can lighten and help heal scars and promotes, healthy scalp and hair.
Jojoba oil is similar to, and miscible with, sebum which is secreted by human sebaceous glands to lubricate and protect skin and hair. When sebum production decreases due to age, pollutants, or environmental stresses, jojoba oil can be used to replicate sebum oil.
Jojoba oil can accumulate around hair roots, thereby conditioning hair and preventing it from becoming brittle and dull. If there is too much sebum buildup on the scalp, it dissolves and removes the sebum, leaving the hair clean. Jojoba oil as a solubilizing agent can also remove sticky buildup on hair from hair preparations as well as airborne particulates deposited on the hair. It forms a lipid layer on the skin, acting as a moisturizer, as well as penetrating and being absorbed by the outer layer of skin.

January is Thyroid Awareness Month

News you can use: January is Thyroid Awareness Month | uoflphysicians.com

Did you know that the thyroid and parathyroid glands are located low in the front of the neck? The thyroid gland is shaped like a butterfly and makes thyroid hormone, which regulates metabolism and is involved in many different bodily functions. There are usually four parathyroid glands, which are the size of a grain of rice. They control the level of calcium in the blood.
